This family of blanket to glass print down frames comprises of two basic sizes with 2,3 or 4Kw light sources and single or multi channel integrators making them suitable for all printing plate and colour proofing applications.

The unit comprises a robust, all metal cabinet that can be split into two for ease of installation where access is limited.

The lower cabinet houses the lamp house, power pack and vacuum pump, whilst the upper cabinet has the control box mounted on the front and the flip over vacuum frame mounted on the top.

The vacuum frame is loaded in a "face-up" position with the glass frame supported in its open position by gas dampers, and is held firmly closed by positive acting swing clamps. The unit is fitted with an automatic safety interlock that prevents any direct light from the lamp reaching the operator if the frame is pivoted.

Air is removed from the vacuum frame through four outlet nozzles, one in each corner which gives a fast even pull down.

A "quick vacuum system" is an option that can be fitted that will increase this pull down rate even further, and with retractable register pins fitted makes this ideally suitable for fast plate production.

A double sided version is also available that allows one side to be loaded whilst the other is exposing, giving a very efficient system where a high throughput of plates is required in a very short time. (See T960 for other fast plate production systems).


The light source can be either 2,3 or 4Kw and can either have a lamp with a spectral output peaking at 365Nm or one peaking at 420Nm. The 365Nm lamp is normally used for printed circuit board manufacture whilst the 420Nm is for the majority of printed plates, diazo and some colour proofing systems. Please check with your plate or material supplier if in any doubt.

The exposure is controlled by an integrator that monitors the intensity of the light in the UV waveband assuring repeatable exposures as the lamp ages or the voltage fluctuates. Single and sixteen memory integrators are available, the latter being microprocessor based. This also monitors the various functions of the unit and has a built in diagnostic check system to assist in fault finding.
